YELLOW HEAD BY JIANG JIE · NEW CHINA - OLD CHINA BY XUE SONG
ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE · PHOTOGRAPHY BY René Staud
Jiang Jies sculptures “Be” red head and “Be” yellow head, from 2002, are fabricated out of fiber glass and coated with a glossy varnish of oil paint. The stylised children’s heads become monumental sculptures (200 x 160 x 136 cm), which define its surroundings. At first glance it seems to be completely uniform, however, it emerges from a unique special effect on space, which is due to the single luminous colouring that completely dominates the surrounding area.
