LAVA FIELd, ILLAHrAUn
A moss covered fossil field. Illahraun is called the lava of evil. Furrowed, fissured, each gap a possible shelter for a mythical creature. The eruptive power of the volcanoes sketched out their own track and formed the country, kilometers long; showing how Iceland was formed and is being formed today. It’s raining. This is not rare on Iceland and, in the meantime, nothing new for us anymore either. A new experience for the team is, however, to be able to move around completely free in nature, no fences, no gates, no kiosks which block the view. We photograph where we want – the main thing is, we have to eliminate all traces of our shoot, and we set great value on that. And so we shovel and rake, until nature is again one with itself.
